Hazards add challenge to a game without adding conflict.  They are typically natural phenomenon but can be caused by civilizations 

Rare

Set by a civilization

These were created or caused by civilization.   Example hazard: Mines! To avoid roll > 14 otherwise 1D4 arrows are sprung dealing 1D6 damage.

Common

Natural Forces

Natural forces cause players to deviate from their chosen path.  For example, a temporal vortex opens up and pulls in players dealing 1D6 damage and sending back in time them 1D4 turns.
